We are excited and honored to be able to have on display in our client waiting area a piece from the “Fearless Women’s” collection titled “Frida” by local artist Deb Francisco-Ferrell. This piece is a pastel on tinted paper and is utterly breathtaking in person.
“Soy del tipo de mujer que si quiero la luna, me la bajo yo solita.” -Frida Kahlo
Translated: “I am the type of woman that if I want the moon, I lower it myself.”
Prints (including greeting cards) are available at https://www.franciscoferrellart.com/product-page/frida. We will soon have a combined set of the “Fearless Women” greeting card collection available at our office. To inquire about purchasing the original, please contact the artist directly.

Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Deb has been making art for as long as she can remember. Both her mother and aunt were quite accomplished artists so she was blessed with wonderful examples. Her mother had a freelance art and photography business that she had hoped to share with her. Unfortunately, while she was working on her Studio Arts and Art History degree at the University of Minnesota, she passed away after a brief illness. Not confident enough to fill her shoes, Deb’s life took a different turn and spent nearly three decades teaching public school; all the while dabbling, however not concentrating on her art. She has recently made the change to refocus on her first passion.
Her style is to generally be a combination of realism and impressionism, though she also enjoys trying out different styles from time to time with varying results. Her favorite mediums are graphite, charcoal, and pastels, but also likes to paint using acrylics, gouache, and occasionally watercolor. One of her favorite collections she works with is titled: “Fearless Women”.
